Massalembo Triangle

Two traffic accidents in early 2007 is very concern. The first marine traffic accidents that befall ships Senopati Nusantara, the second plane crash of Adam Air. Both are thought to occur at times near each other in the same region near the North Sea is also in Java, and the one around Masalembo.

Twenty six years ago KM Tampomas II burned at sea and sank on January 27, 1981. Well why in the months of the same huh? indeed these months are the peak months of the changing seasons throughout the Indonesian islands around the equator. But why did this accident occurrence at a location about the same? Ah lest perhaps might.
Masalembo Island is actually a small island located at the end of the Sunda Shelf. These small islands located in the "fork" the sea of Java Sea are trending east and west of Makassar strait that cuts north-south trending.

The pattern of deep water in the Triangle this Masalembo very clearly shows an almost perfect triangular shape of an equilateral triangle. See picture below.

On the map the ocean depth or bathymetry map above to see the shape of a triangular island. Tinggian comprising several islands I call the "Triangle Masalembo" or "THE TRIANGLE Masalembo." Well, there is anything in this area Masalembo seputaran Triangle. Let us open the open a little bit yes. But do not expect much from the mystical, more I explained the only terrestrial and maritime
Arlindo Meeting (Sea Flow Indonesia)

Indonesian Throughflow (Arlindo), indicate the relationship Between the Relationship Between Arlindo and El-Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) (Source, Gordon, A., 1998)

On top of this ocean currents depicted in Indonesia, especially East Indonesia. Consider the current through this Masalembo Triangle. At the top (green line) shows the sea water flowing from the west extends the Java Sea, in the form of monsoonal stream or seasonal stream. This current is strongly influenced by weather and season. While from the Makassar Strait from the north there is another stream which is a thermocline, or the flow of sea water due to differences in ocean temperature. Both currents met in the vicinity of Triangle Masalembo.

Well, of course this will greatly affect the flow of the sea voyage here. This seasonal flow is influenced also by the temperature of sea water due to solar heating Of course. If you still remember that the sun's trajectory moves to shift to the north-south with the annual cycle. That is why in the months of January is a time of change of current seasonal (monsoon).

What is interesting from this Arlindo? This current brings cold sea water from the Pacific to Samodera Indonesia Samodra allegedly with a debit of up to 15 million meterkubik per second! And almost entirely through the Makassar Strait!
Of course the flow of water is not just the flow of water. Many other aspects that go with the flow of water flowing that much, for example, there will also flow marine fish, marine sediment flow, also the flow of water temperature. What are the effects of this flow with the process of maritime own? Well of course many

If you are easily portrayed perhaps makassar strait profile can be seen as below.

In the basic profile of rock visible above the strait of Makassar Kalimantan and Sulawesi different rocks, if you still remember that I wrote about the formation of fault-fracture in Java in previous posts here, then of course easy to understand. This is because there are significant differences between Western and Eastern Indonesia Indonesia, such as who wrote here earlier. Kalimantan is part of the Sunda Shelf (West Indonesia) Sulawesi is part of East Indonesia. Now that dividing line was found by Wallace called the Wallace Line (Wallace Line). Wallace Line is actually the result of Indonesian wildlife research West-East, but actually there are also implications or manifestations of aspects of the geology (rock constituent).
From the rock we know that under the strait macassar have a very complex geology, there above the strait of Makassar who also have special characters in this world where water flow is very large.

What was seen again? Yes of course there is that separates the meteorological aspects of the area over the water to the area above the mainland of the clouds. Cloud is a special phenomenon that most often found on the mainland. Itulas's why when I'm in the middle of the ocean trying to look upward, look for clouds. Clouds are marching there will be more banya on land rather than over the ocean like the picture above.
What else besides the cloud?
Wind, yes because the wind will blow hot air pressure differences. At night when the wind bertiupnya land, the fishermen went fishing at sea. Conversely in the day when the wind bertiupnya sea, the fishermen.

Changes in sea surface wind due to this temperature change in the daily cycle, but of course there is also an annual cycle or called the monsoon cycle. Looh Monsoon, really seems to also exist in the monsoonal stream Arlindo drawn above. Yes, that's the wind flow cycles, water cycles were mixed in a triangular meet this Masalembo. Runyem right?

Bermuda Triangle area is often associated with conditions of magnetism. Is there a magnetic map of the Triangle area Masalembo this?
When compared with the Bermuda Triangle, Triangle Masalembo location also showed no weirdness. Looks like a triangle Masalembo awesomeness is more determined by factors of natural disturbance is not mystical. Is perhaps the most dominant meteorological factors including weather factors, including wind, rain, clouds, humidity, water and air temperature that may indeed be a manifestation of the configuration of rocks and geological conditions, oceaografi and geography that is very unique.

If indeed this Triangle Masalembo generated a lot of transportation problems (traffic), certainly needs the signs of more sophisticated marine traffic is placed in this location. But that does not mean the forbidden zone of the time anyway we should not pass through all time. For example a special lighthouse, the placement of radar observers. Also equally important scientific research on the behavior of sea currents, and weather in this area.
